As marketers flood popular channels to get consumer attention, conversion rates have plummeted. Email marketing used to have amazing open rates and there was a time when it was easy to reach all of your followers on social media with posts and convert them with product offerings. Now, email and social media are flooded with ads and it gets more and more expensive to reach your target market and less and less effective every day.
What's next? Texting! Texting is still a channel that has room to grow and has the least noise....for now. This is the most intimate and guarded form of communication but if you can tap into it, it can be a gold mine! In my business, we have a texting club with several hundred members and when I send out an offer or something that asks for a response, it is overwhelming the percentage of members that interact compared to other channels. I equate texting to email in the 90's. When you would get an email back then you were so excited to open it and read the whole message. The same with a text today. If you get a text, you are pulling out your phone pronto and reading it over. How can you incorporate texting in your business? The tool I use for my texting club is, Textedly, http://fbuy.me/hcwy- Are you sending direct mail to your customer list? While you may think this is a "dying practice", it is actually alive and I have found more effective than ever! Here are 3 reasons why I am bullish on direct mail: 1. As everything is becoming more digital, getting something physical in the mail is now kind of exciting. 2. Unlike an email or digital coupon, a physical mail piece can not be instantly deleted. It can move from room to room and throwing it away is still a touch point unlike deleting 10 emails at once. 3. Copy on a physical mailer can be more dynamic and an immersive experience, like "turn me over" or "Scratch here for your discount amount". Below is a recent postcard I sent out to my mailing list which yielded a 5X return on my investment. FRONT |
