Have you ever used UberConference? Recently, I was a participant on 2 UberConferences and I could not believe how enjoyable and memorable my experience was all do to one simple add on that I have never see on a conference website.
Sure, the tools and user experience were great, but what stood out to me was a song that played while I was waiting for the host to join. When I am waiting for anyone to join on a virtual conference site, I usually tune out when the music starts to play and I work on something else until the person I am waiting on joins. However, in this case, I noticed the music playing was actually a song produced by UberConference that was talking about waiting for the other person to join and was hilarious. That small touch made me a fan of this company instantly! UberConference knew that it’s annoying waiting for someone to join and the music always sucks, so they removed this pain point and had fun with it. In your business, think of a small pain point. What can you do today to remove that pain from the customer in a fast and low cost way. For example, I went to the bank today to do a cash deposit for my retail stores. I went straight to the counter and I was told to fill out a deposit slip at the counter behind me, fine, no big deal. I filled out the slip and before I turned around there were 3 people in line so I had to wait. This was frustrating because I went from being at the counter to now waiting 5 minutes. What could the bank do? The bank could get rid of these slips and promote to their clientele that you can now go straight to the counter and the teller will do everything for you, creating a higher level of service and removing that pain point of losing your place in line.
