Up until the recent launch of IOS11, I thought QR codes were dead. When I saw a QR code posted at a business, I would think they were out of touch since scanning a QR code meant using a separate app that from my perspective not many people had….on the iPhone at least. My thought on QR codes have completely changed (if you have an iPhone try this out by accessing your camera and pointing it at a QR code) and I am now rolling out in-store experiences with custom QR codes because accessing these codes are simple with IOS11 and require very little effort for the user. Below is an example of a sign I just put up in my resale maternity store to entertain people waiting on their partners as they try on clothing. Before this QR code rollout on IOS, I would have to put a long link or Bit.ly to access this video and most likely 90% of people wouldn’t do it. Now, I can customize customer’s experiences in my store in a fluid way with more buy in.
